How Does The Harp Aid In The Healing Process?

For many centuries the beneficial relationship between music and healing has been well established and there is plenty of documentation to prove the benefits. Music played on the harp is know for and has many healing qualities.

• Resonance from the strings

• The range of pitch and tonal Colour

• The relationship between sound and recipient

Historically the harp had been a symbol of relief and comfort.

”Frequency plus intention – equals healing.” Why? Because we are rhythm, vibration with aliveness. (our molecules, our atoms, our quantum particles)

Harping For Wellness Workshops are designed to encourage participants to engage with music by developing the basic skills needed individually and as a group to make music together.

An Open Letter From My Student, Monica – Part I

Hear Monica’s Feedback After One Year Of Learning How To Play The Harp Therapeutically

For a different blog experience today I’m going to share with you an open letter from my student Monica. With her permission, I’m going to read her thoughts on learning how to play the harp therapeutically, after one year. And yes, please do stay tuned for Part II next week.

It’s been a pleasure showing and sharing with Monica what I’ve learned on my harper’s journey. I’m encouraged and delighted to have worked with her for a year. Time passes quickly and I look forward to hearing how Monica will go on to use therapeutic harp music in her practice moving forward. Our time together has been anything but traditional and a whole lot of fun.

If you are interested in being mentored or wish to learn how to play the harp therapeutically, please get in touch. I’ve been through 2 wonderful creative harp programs and I’m happy to share my experience with you. Interested?

There’s Always A First Time, For Everything

Who Can Resist The Northern Lights Harp Fest?

Excited to be part of this year’s event…finally. I’ve waited for what seems like forever for the right time when everything would fall into place so I can attend. Well, 2017 is the year I get to see what all the talk is about. Even better, this year I’ll happily be representing the Harp For Healing program with Director, Mary Stevens.

I’ve signed up for workshops with Diana Rowan, Ray Pool, and Frank Volt to name a few of the presenters, artists, and musicians over the weekend. Out of my comfort zone? Maybe, but it’s good to try new things so I’m delighted to join in and participate. How exciting!!!!
