In case you’re wondering, yes, in the picture you get a glimpse inside my happy place.
Where can you escape from everyday life and feel completely free and at ease? That could very well be your happy place. For me, that’s here at home in my music room, and the place where I create, consult and mentor. As you can see if it’s colorful I’m in.
The beauty of happiness is subjective. And in my opinion, it is also a state mind.
My happy place is made up of music and MARI®. It brings the ultimate in peace and joy. Even better, I’m able to share that joy in community facilitating MARI® workshops at the Joshua Creek Heritage Art Centre.
Having a set of rainbow harps not only tickles me pink, sharing harp music, facilitating workshops and playing for myself and others allows a return to inner peace. At least that’s how I feel.
Taking a moment to be creative is a joyful experience. Becoming a MARI® practitioner is the best education I could give myself. For me personally, it has provided more joy and happiness than I ever could have imagined. Most recently, having a client call to book a session for herself and her daughter, as a gift for her daughter’s 21st birthday, let’s me know I’m on the right path. To hear a young lady of 21 say, “I loved it” is music to my ears.
Her mother, a graphic artist, is creator of the beautiful mandala you see in the photograph. I’m always amazed at what clients create during a session. I alway say, “…surprise yourself.” Well, this client certainly did.
Finding your happy place is pleasurable and freeing. It’s as if one becomes lost in the moment and time stands still. Having an emotional connection with nature is important too. I love spending time walking in the woods before a client visit.
“The secret to happiness is freedom… And the secret to freedom is courage.” ~ Thucydides
Over the years I’ve come to appreciate my happy place. And it started with a return to self finding inner peace.
If you’re looking for your happy place ask yourself, “Am I free? Am I being me?”
Should you ever slip, or lose sight of your happy place, fear not. Instead, welcome a new and exciting journey before you.
What I know for sure, simplicity is key. Stay optimistic about the future.
Our hearts crave joy and happiness. Life will provide more than you could ever imagine. First, recognize and connect, and for some reconnect, to your happy place.
My workshops will start again in September 2017 @Joshua Creek Heritage Art Centre. For more details visit:
